Introduction
Like all great lands Arcus is home to many factions and various groups. Some groups have an evil agenda and seek to cause harm. Others are noble and only wish to protect. Yet, most groups are neither good, nor evil, simply self interested.

Arcane University of Ardaxil
The University is the largest store of arcane knowledge in existence. It sits on an island off the coast of Henslian in the country of Ardaxil. Only those students with the greatest talents for the arcane are admitted, of those most are asked to leave. Students and their teachers focus on unlocking the secrets of the universe and create a better understanding of magic in general.
Rumors 1. The head master is an ancient lich and the bowls of the university are filled with his undead minions. 2. The University wizards are secretly running Helsia and control the king and queen with dark magic. 3. The wizards and students are able to make rifts into other worlds and refuse to share this new magic so they may use it to gain power.

Luddites
Not everyone has embraced the machines that have become so common in Arcus. Especially he high elves. The Ludietes are a group of people opposed to the rise of technology. They take an any means necessary approaching to stopping the spread and development of technology.
Rumors 1. Luddites are controlled by the high elves to trick the other races into doing their bidding in destroying machines. 2. Luddites are really followers of Corellon and see technology as an affront to their deity. 3. Luddites are agents of Thisk who are sabotaging Sarquan in preparation for an invasion.

Adventurer's Guild of Marrontl
The Adventurer's Guild of Marront is a gathering of the best and noblest warriors in all of the world. It was founded and is still lead by eccentric Sir Vim Rauli. In theory anyone may contract with the guild, but in practice the expense is too high for all but nobility or the most successful of merchants. The guild only accepts those contracts it believes to be just.
Rumors 1. Sir Rauli contracted lycanthropy while adventuring and now locks himself away every full moon. 2. The guild acts as a secret police for the council disappearing anyone who questions their rulers. 3. The guildhall sits above miles up miles of underground tunnels filled with treasure and monsters.
